Shungite is a rare, black, lustrous mineral found in the Karelia region of Russia. It is composed of mostly carbon (98-99%) and small amounts of minerals such as silicate, pyrite. Shungite a unique form of carbon called fullerenes, which are made up of 60 or more carbon atoms arranged in a spherical structure and are used for water purification.
Noble or Elite shungite is high grade shungite with minimal impurities.
